Private Peaceful Production Week – Update #1

Happy New Year to everyone!

We have started the New Year by getting straight into Production Week for our production of Private Peaceful. We have been busy for the whole weekend so here’s just a snippet of what we have been up to…

Saturday 3rd January

On Saturday we had our Refresher Rehearsal Run for Private Peaceful and our Hamlet Costume & Props Day. People in Private Peaceful spent the morning getting sorted into Dressing Rooms and changing into costumes, all costumes were then checked and additions made. We then went into a run of the whole show which went very smoothly and showed that a lot of people had put in a lot of work (even though they have been on Christmas Break!). I the gave a lot of notes for everyone to work on over the next couple of days before they turn up for the Tech Rehearsal on Monday. In the Hamlet Costume & Props Day we managed to make a lot of props including bones from tree branches and standards; we also gave out nearly all the costumes for the show (except the RSC hires of course!). We then had the Front of House Training Session in the evening for all the people who will be helping on our Front of House Team during Production Week. It was a very busy but successful day!

Swallows and Amazons Production Week: Day 3

We managed to transform the space, building the set, organising the (insane number of) props, tidying the backstage area and generally getting the whole theatre ready for the arrival of The Actors later on that day.
